Waiting...

I've been at this for 55 days now...why are the last 10 choosing to drag by as slowly as possible??

The One at the Fountain

After the music museum, Jacob took me walking around by the space needle and to a park with a huge fountain. I forget the exact name of it, but I know it is really famous. I liked just sitting and looking at it and talking together.

The One at The Music Museum

In October, I was back in Washington! (They can't really keep me away...hopefully they don't want to!) As usual, Jacob picked out something cool to sight see. (He's really good at planning stuff like that in case you haven't noticed.) This time, he took me to see this music museum, which was awesome! If you see it from the sky, it looks like a smashed guitar! We had so much fun in there...especially with the voice machine in the experiment department. I love that Jacob always plans fun things for us to do when we're together, it has definitely made this memory thing a lot easier!

On the way to the museum!

We tried out space music.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas is here! I had a great Christmas with my family. We all went out to dinner on Christmas Eve and went to look at the lights in Sunset Park, which were awesome this year. This morning we all woke up and opened our presents. I love everything I got...but I especially love what my sisters got me...the complete series of Friends on DVD! I can't wait to start watching those. A few other things that I really liked were my ticket to Chicago (Thanks Mom & Dad!), my new day planner, and my new black purse. I also got this great book about marrying into the military, it looks like it has tons of information, which is perfect for me since I like to know everything! But, now that Christmas is here, it also means it's almost over which means new look for my blog! (I love Christmas music, but I was ready to be done.) It also means...2 weeks until graduation! I can't wait! Merry Christmas to everyone! Much love,

The One With More Random Pictures

It seemed to be a recurring theme that every time I left Washington, I would somehow convince Jacob to take a bunch more pictures right before we had to leave for the airport.

Babysitting Tucker!

Today I got to watch Sam's new puppy, Tucker. He is the cutest little ball of fluff ever! I just love him. We had so much fun playing at my house...although my mom wasn't too happy when he "went" on the floor. Luckily it was pretty easy to clean up off of her brand new tile! (Sorry, Mom!) Tucker can definitely brighten anybody's day!

Tucker really wanted to be friends with my dogs...they weren't too sure about the idea.

Tucker really wanted to play with the Schmoo, but this is about as close as they got.

"Tuckered" Out - Tucker would play and nap all day. It was so cute.

The One Where We Had a "Real" Date

For the majority of our relationship, Jacob's and my dates were sort of...not really date-like. (Our first date was Del Taco for Taco Tuesday if that paints any kind of picture for you.) So, after we got engaged we had a real date. We made dinner together and ate it with candles at his house. It was so much fun, and now Jacob writes to me about how he wishes we could be going on dates now that he's in boot camp. (I'll be keeping that letter to show him in 20 years.) This night was so much fun and I loved that Jacob was so willing to go along with it.

We started the night off right...engagement slurpees! Pina colada of course.

Apparently the girl is usually supposed to be the one cooking (don't tell the feminists I said that) But I got lucky with Jake. He always volunteers to be the chef.

Jacob's creating. He was very proud of his pizza, complete with chopped pepperoni.

Our candlelit table.

After dinner, Jacob and I played with our "Do you know your bride/groom" books and I tried on his old letterman jacket and we just kind of goofed around.

Jake doing his homework. He knew me pretty dang well actually.

Foyston sure does look good on me!

Merry Christmas, Jacob.

Today, I sent off Jacob's "christmas present". Since he can't get packages in boot camp, I just sent him a picture of his present.

I also made him a blanket with US Navy material that's pretty cool. And I found an awesome tie that I got just because. I "wrapped" the picture in an envelope with wrapping paper on the outside and tied a little bow around it and put it in with his letter that I sent. Hopefully he won't open it until Christmas like I told him to!

In other news, I'm dealing with a small cold and readjusting to life back in Las Vegas! It's definitely warmer than I'm used to. I'm continuing to count down the days until Jake's graduation and spending some much needed time with my family. I finished my Christmas shopping yesterday...I can't believe it's less than a week away! Where has this year gone?

And...Jacob got to call again today! I love when he gets to call! We caught up as quickly as possible, he only got 20 minutes today. Hopefully if his division does well this week he will be able to call again next Saturday! He's doing GREAT in boot camp, he's gotten A's on all of his tests and stuff so far. And he's a section leader, which means he's kind of in charge of some things...I'm not sure what though! Anyway, I'm so proud of him, and so excited we got to talk today!

Oh, and in case you didn't notice from the picture above, my hair is now much darker. =/ I'm still getting used to it, but it just made more sense for the winter to keep it closer to my natural color. Don't worry, blonde hair fans, it will be back in time for the wedding!

The One Where We Tried to Take Our Own Engagement Pictures

While I was in Washington, Jacob and I thought it would be a good idea to try to take our own engagement pictures in case we didn't get another chance before boot camp...well let's just say it wasn't the best idea we've ever had. The pictures were kind of cute...but nothing anyone would want to get in the mail! We had fun trying though...

Saturday's Phone Call

I haven't had a chance to blog about this yet, but on Saturday Jacob got to call again! I was sitting on the stairs in my apartment talking to Amanda about how much I wanted to talk to Jacob because I was lonely, and no more than ten minutes went by before my phone rang with that 847 area code! I was so excited! And, we got to talk for 45 minutes this time! We talked about boot camp a little, he's liking it more now and he's a section leader! Yay Jacob! (I admit, I'm very proud) We also talked a LOT about our wedding and tried to figure out some more details. Things with the wedding are complicated as usual, but we're working it out as best we can. The best part is, graduation is only 23 days away...I can't wait!

In other news, I am now back in Las Vegas for winter break. It's warm here so that's nice. Today I went walking and shopping with my mom and I got new glasses (and a new prescription...yes I continue to go blind). I also picked out some Christmas presents that I love. The best thing I bought today, though, was a brand new camera!! For those of you who do not know, my beautiful little pink camera died this past summer on one of my trips to Washington, so until now I have been using Jake's old camera from his mission. It works pretty well, and it was very sweet of him to give it to me, but the time has come for me to invest in a new one. Plus, I want to make sure I have a great camera for Jake's graduation and my trip to Chicago! I went for a sleeker look, and for the first time ever, I picked black instead of pink! I know, shocking! But, I figure that eventually Jacob and I will be sharing the camera, and even though he would probably never complain, I know he would prefer to not have a pink one. And I think the black looks pretty legit, so I'm excited about it! I also got a new case so this camera won't break on me. I can't wait to start using it!

My new camera!

Other than that, not much has been going on. My last week in Flagstaff was GREAT! Amanda and I finally found a friend! hahah, that's the joke at least. Shawn has been good to have around, he shoveled both of our cars out of the snow and we've had a lot of fun. We went ice skating and sledding and just had a grand old time.

That's pretty much what's been going on. Tonight, I'm off to Samantha's house to work out and meet her precious new puppy! I love friends!

The One at The Puyallup Fair

While I was in Washington in September Jacob took me to my first ever fair! There was so much to see and do and...eat. I have never seen so much food in my life. Jacob calls it "fair food" and apparently you're supposed to eat as much as you can in the time you're there. I struggled with that surprisingly. We also saw lots of animals and our favorite part was the infomercial tent. It was this huge tent where all the different products you see on tv set up booths to try and sell their product. There was so much to look at in there! We also saw a hypnotist, and that was really funny. I loved going to the fair!

My attempt to keep up with all the fair food Jacob was putting away.

The One Where We Got Engaged

Well...I've all ready posted the whole story on this...so feel free to go back to the older posts on my blog for the details! In September, I went back to Washington to visit Jacob and he proposed! (i think it's because he didn't want to leave for boot camp and risk someone else stealing me away =])

The One When I Moved Back Up to Flagstaff

While Jacob was in Las Vegas he helped my mom and me move my stuff back up to Flagstaff. He was very helpful to have along. He could carry all my heavy stuff for me. It was so fun being back in Arizona with Jacob and I was really sad to see him and my mom leave =[

We went to lunch at Fratelli's. They have the best pizza!

I also happened to find out that it was on the drive back to Las Vegas when Jacob asked my mom if he could marry me....and she missed her exit on the freeway! I like that story, and man am I happy she said it was okay!

The One at Six Flags

In August, Jacob came back to Las Vegas to help me move to Flagstaff. We had a few days before we were planning on going, so I planned to take one day to drive to Six Flags in California. We left pretty early in the morning, and when we got there it was HOT outside. We went on a water ride to cool off, but after two more crazy roller coasters, I was starting to feel the effects. Turns out I was dehydrated. Oops! Lucky for me, Jacob is super sweet and he let me leave to head home. I was bummed we couldn't stay longer, but I had a lot of fun while it lasted. Hopefully we can go back one day and try again.

California here we come!

Waiting in line...

Jacob's favorite roller coaster, Goliath. He saw it on the Discovery Channel once. I have to say, I was very impressed.

Batman...the ride that did me in. I was not in such great shape after that! Sorry Jake!

The One with the Surprise for Jacob's Birthday

Little did Jacob know...but even when I left Washington for 4th of July I knew I'd be back very soon. That was because I was planning on surprising Jacob in Washington for his birthday. Everything in the plan went perfectly. He had a game that day, so I knew he'd be pretty consumed with that. I called him on my way to the airport and told him I was going to work and he should call me after his game. When I got to Washington, his parents picked me up and off we went to the game. We were so excited for the surprise! What we all forgot, however, was that once Jacob's head is in the game, his head is not coming out of the game until the game is over. He is very competitive like that. So when he did tear himself away to acknowledge my presence, he just waved and went on with what he was doing. Luckily, Jershon picked up the slack, and was super excited to see me. Hahah. It ended up that I was really happy I went to that game because Jacob played really well. He even hurdled over someone while he was running the ball.

A photographer at the game caught it on film! Awesome, huh? I am blowing this picture up to give to Jacob for Christmas, and I'm letting him hang it in our house!

It was a really short trip, but definitely worth it. I can't believe I barely took any pictures that trip because my camera broke the day I got there! We found Jake's camera about 2 hours before he had to take me to the airport, so we did a quick photo shoot.

Our first Snow Day!

A 24 hour snow storm just ended here in Flagstaff, and we got 24 inches of snow! I didn't have any finals, but school ended up being cancelled anyway. So, Amanda, Shawn, and I went shopping and ran errands in the crazy weather. It was a lot of fun, and really pretty to be out in the snow! We hung out pretty much all day until about 6pm when the school announced they would be closed to following day as well! That meant that my hardest final of the week was cancelled! And I get to keep the grade I had in the class! We took that great news and decided to celebrate. We went sledding! It was my first time ever and it was amazing! Playing in the snow was definitely wet and cold, but also definitely worth it. After about an hour and a half or so, the snow was not letting up, and if anything, falling harder so we decided to head back home. But, on the way home we got stuck. Twice. The first time only took about 5 minutes to get out of, but the second time we got in good. In the end we needed Brad Fox to tow us out, and it was cold and miserable. Luckily, we have some great friends and got out of there within half an hour. By the time we got home, there was a full on blizzard outside. We warmed up and hung out for a little bit before the day was officially over. I love snow days!

These are our "it's freezing out here!" faces.

Outside of our apartment complex.

So much ice!

Yes, we love pictures. Yes, we had a photo shoot in the snow.

Chillin with Shawn.

Outside of the mall, it was empty in there!

My beautiful roomie Amanda and I at lunch at BWW. We got a seat by the window so we could watch the snow.

Getting ready to go sledding! We matched!
