ODU

On Wednesday the rain continued, but we decided to take a tour of Old Dominion University anyway. We both really liked the school and the campus was really pretty. It was definitely cool to walk around instead of just drive by like I had done in the past. I'm excited to start transferring there.

Looking out into the rain...

Kylie made some friends while we were taking pictures by the fountain.

I had SO much fun with Kylie while she was here, it was amazing to have her visit. Now, we're just sitting at my house waiting out a tornado warning...never a dull moment!

Downtown Norfolk

Once the rain cleared up, Kylie and I took a little tour of downtown Norfolk.

This is the waterfront downtown, you can look up the river and see the shipyard where Jacob works.

Virginia Zoo

On Tuesday it was pretty rainy which put a damper on most of our ideas for the day, but we decided to tough it out and go to the zoo.
Because of the weather we were the only people in the ENTIRE zoo.

Kylie's favorite was the pigs...not.

Peacocks! It feels just like home!

The giraffes were my favorite.

Norfolk Naval Station

On Saturday Jacob and I took Kylie to see the navy base.

This is an aircraft carrier like the one Jacob works on.

Kylie is in Virginia -- Va Beach

Kylie got to Virginia last Thursday to spend a week with Jacob and me (well mostly me, but she hung out a little with Jacob too)! We did all kinds of fun things while she was here so I'm going to break it into separate posts.

On Friday we went to Virginia Beach with Kellie.

While we were there, the Neptune Sand Sculpting competition was there, and these are just some of the CRAZY sand sculptures we saw...

The "No Swearing" sign. You get a ticket for it in Virginia Beach.

My socks...

I don't know what it is about my socks, but Jacob always tries to sneak them on to workout in. I just think it's funny...and kind of weird. =)

I am my husband's wife!

I cannot put this book down!! Everyone should read it. It is so refreshing to hear from someone who reaffirms the meaning of marriage. She talks about how important it is to create a loving home for your husband to come to and explains why feminists have it all wrong! Being a woman who gets to provide her husband with the love and nurturing he needs is far more rewarding than doing everything for yourself. She applauds old fashioned chivalry and really makes you appreciate the beauty and joy of marriage.

So...READ IT!

Great News!

I got some amazing news this week. I found out that Kylie is coming to visit next THURSDAY! And then, my mom is coming on the 14th of October and my dad is meeting us here on the 20th! AND Sam told me that she's been saving up for a ticket to come visit and help me decorate! I am SO excited and I can't believe I got all this news in the span of like 2 days! I am so happy that we will finally get to see some familiar faces in Virginia!

Puppy Crazy

I don't know what it is about Virginia...but I have never wanted a dog so bad! Maybe it's because I know I can't have one...but whatever it is I am PUPPY CRAZY!!

I just want one so badly! I wish it wasn't so freaking expensive and kind of a big commitment....=(

I love being a wife!

Yesterday, I spent all day cleaning the house. There was stuff everywhere from moving and unpacking. Random papers, receipts, empty frames, boxes, grocery bags, cords, just everything! And none of it had an official "spot" in the house yet so it took awhile to figure that out. By the time I finished I was pretty worn out, and I hadn't even gotten to my online class yet! But then, just as I sat down on the couch, Jacob got home from work, and he brought me these...

How could you not love him? Putting flowers on the dining room table made cleaning the house SO worth it! I love my husband!

(Plus, isn't he so cute in his navy outfit?)
