Haywire

Today I bought the new Josh Turner CD. I know it's super easy to buy music off of iTunes these days...and maybe it's just me, but I think there's something a little more special about owning the actual CD that you can hold in your hands. And I can think of no one else better to bestow the honor upon than Josh Turner. All time favorite. By far.

And....I love this song.

The gym is that way...

Oh, Jake. This picture definitely made my day! (Thanks, Heidi!) I thought it deserved a little spot on my blog. Love you, Jacob.

2010 means a new me!

Okay so maybe I'm a little behind on my new year's resolution, but the time has come! I am committing right now to making myself the best me I can be in 2010. I think that I have a little extra motivation this year anyway...it's this little thing called a wedding, and it's accompanied by the most fabulous dress known to the human kind and lots of pictures. Knowing me, I definitely will not be avoiding the camera, so it's probably a better idea to make sure I look rockin while I'm in front of it.

Jessica Simpson will be serving as my inspiration on my journey. I always pick her when someone asks me what celebrity's body I would want, so why not reach for the stars right? I mean, c'mon, the woman pulls those cut-off's off like no one else. Rockin hot body, here I come!

Jacob and Valerie's Top Ten Dates...so far.

Jacob and I got to talking today and we realized we've had some pretty fun dates over the course of our relationship. So without further ado, allow us to present the Top Ten!

1. Round Table on Jacob's bed while watching a Say Yes to the Dress marathon.

2. Winning awesome seats at the Mariner's game

3. Going to 6 Flags

4. Taco Tuesday

5. Spending the day at the Puyallup Fair.

6. Reacquainting with the bean dip at Garcia's

7. Homemade pizza with candles!

8. The Outback Picnic in our hotel room in Chicago

9. The Easter Pageant in Mesa

10. Hiking down to the base of Snoqualmie Falls

Jacob and I have done some awesome and fun things, and it seems like they just always get better! I'm pretty dang excited to see what we'll do next!

The Navy

So sometimes I think I can get really caught up in the negatives that come along with Jacob being in the Navy. He's far away, he doesn't get much free time, I hardly ever see him. But what I forget is that I should be very grateful that Jacob is in the Navy. For one thing, it is super hard to get a job now, and Jacob potentially has a career. It's even getting harder to enlist in the Navy because there are so many people trying to sign up. The next few months definitely will not be easy, and I know that I'll probably complain a lot more. But I felt like I needed to acknowledge that I am very grateful that Jacob is working so hard for us and that he has a job when so many people don't. Thanks Jake, you're amazing! =]

These are a few of my favorite things...

Uggs, yoga pants, and sweaters! I can honestly say I have not worn anything else for the past week and a half, and I am loving it. Now, I just need to expand my collection of uggs and yoga pants. I'm pretty well covered in the sweater department (except for a Navy one in my size....Jacob =]). I'm looking forward to that shopping adventure. But until then, remember, cotton/spandex is the new denim!

great lakes great weekend.

My weekend in Chicago was perfect. It was really nice to just spend time with Jacob. On Friday night we had an Outback picnic in the hotel and watched ESPN. I loved just getting to hang out together.

Saturday morning we drove out to the temple...but it was way too cold to walk around so we took a picture and got the heck out of there. Then we went back to the hotel and watched the Winter X Games before going out in search of real Chicago pizza. The pizza was good, but the bread sticks were amazing!

Sunday we just had breakfast and watched the rest of the X Games. I know, that probably sounds pretty boring but it was exactly what I wanted to do. When Jacob took me to the airport, we found out that my flight was delayed an hour and a half, so he stayed with me and we watched the Pro Bowl and went shopping in the souvenir store. It was nice to have the extra time together before I had to go home.

It's amazing the conviction I have that Jacob is the person I'm supposed to be with. He's so perfect for me in so many ways. I love that when I'm with him I'm always happy. Nothing is boring when we're together. He works really hard for us and I'm so grateful to have him in my life. I love that I can visit him and that we can spend some time together. I never want to take one second for granted because we spend so much time apart. If any girl is half as happy as I am with Jacob, then she's pretty dang lucky too. I love him, I love him, I love him! He's my lobster. =]
