Halloween

Jacob and I realized that Halloween gets slightly less fun when you're grown up and living in a new place with not too many friends. But, luckily for us we have the Zinchini's! We went over to their house and watched football and carved pumpkins. It was actually really fun and hopefully it will be our little Virginia tradition.

Wolf, Steelers, Cowboys, Seahawks

My attempt at a Seahawk

The Zinchini's

The Foyston's

We were all super proud of our pumpkins, hence us showing them off =)

Mom and Dad visit VIRGINIA!

Whoa, I've been slacking on my blog and there's a lot to catch up on! I promise to try and do better.

First of all, my mom and dad came and visited Jacob and me in Virginia! My mom was here for 10 days and my dad was here for 4. It was amazing! I was so happy to have them here and SO beyond sad to see them go home. Sometimes a girl just needs her mom around I guess. I hope eventually Jacob and I will be able to move a little closer to family. Here are some of my favorite memories from the trip:

Relaxing at home

Looking at the Battleship Wisconsin

The Great Dismal Swamp

Hiking

Mom and I ready to go

Waiting in line for Panda Express on Grand Opening Day. It's the ONLY one in Norfolk.

We spent one morning at the base watching this ship come in.

Lunch on the river in Yorktown

Dad and Jake checking out one of the Pilgrim ships in Jamestown

A log canoe in the Jamestown Settlement

Outside Jamestown

We got our toes in the sand in Virginia Beach!

Sightseeing in colonial Williamsburg

Shopping in Williamsburg

I could not believe how quickly the time went by while my parents were here. We got to go check out a lot of cool things that Jacob and I hadn't seen yet. The weather was perfect the whole time and my mom even got to see some fall colors. I can't wait until they visit again.

In my history class we only get 3 grades the entire semester...a midterm, a final, and an essay. Well, our midterm was today and let's just say I've been stressin big time about getting a super good grade. And I did! 98% to be exact! I am a nerd and good grades make my happy and proud!

Tornado Watch

On Kylie's last day in Virginia we had MAJOR rain, flood warnings, and a tornado watch. That meant we were stuck inside all day watching it pour rain. But, right before our treacherous drive to the airport we braved the rain for one last photoshoot.

ODU

On Wednesday the rain continued, but we decided to take a tour of Old Dominion University anyway. We both really liked the school and the campus was really pretty. It was definitely cool to walk around instead of just drive by like I had done in the past. I'm excited to start transferring there.

Looking out into the rain...

Kylie made some friends while we were taking pictures by the fountain.

I had SO much fun with Kylie while she was here, it was amazing to have her visit. Now, we're just sitting at my house waiting out a tornado warning...never a dull moment!

Downtown Norfolk

Once the rain cleared up, Kylie and I took a little tour of downtown Norfolk.

This is the waterfront downtown, you can look up the river and see the shipyard where Jacob works.
